Antique Swiss Polar Planimeter Crosby Steam Gage & Valve Co. Boston
This antique Swiss made polar planimeter was retailed by Crosby Steam Gage & Valve Co of Boston Massachusetts
Along with the retailer's name, "Swiss Manufacture" is engraved on one side with standard and metric measurements and the serial number 54803
The instrument measures 11" in extension
The arm swings very smoothly and measures ~6 ½" long from its pivot point
This large size seems to be quite rare with most similar examples being much smaller
The case measures 9" long by 1 3/4" wide by 1 ½" high
The clasp and fabric "hinge" are intact and work as they should
"Crosby Steam Gage & Valve Co Boston" is faintly visible on the top of the case with "Swiss Manufacture" stamped
It has been well maintained and comes in the original box
