This is a fantastic old tin and wood toy
Rare and original, ca1923 Tin Lithograph "action" Baseball Game titled "The Great American Game / Base Ball" manufactured by the Frantz Garage Hardware Co. of Sterling, Illinois.
This classic, early 20th century Baseball Game measures approx. 9" by 13 1/4" by 3 1/2" tall and features a Tin Lithograph playing surface affixed to a wood base. The playing surface features a wonderful image of a Baseball Stadium with two opposing teams on the field. Above the playing field image there is a spring loaded, rotating drum which is activated by a push button mechanism. This drum creates the random results for various "plays" which determine the progress of the Game. There are basic instructions printed below the opening where the spring loaded cylinder display is seen as well as more extensive instructions printed on the back side of the tin lithographed playing surface. The Game is marked “Patent Applied For” identifying it as the earliest edition of the Toy.
This rare and very attractive, ca1923 Tin Lithograph "action" Baseball Game is in very good condition – well preserved and in excellent working condition. The surface lithography is well preserved with bright and vibrant color and only light and scattered surface blemishes. The mechanism is intact and in excellent, working condition. The Game lacks the original base runner pawns but is otherwise complete.
A rare and quite wonderful, ca1923 Tin Lithograph "action" Baseball Game titled "The Great American Game / Base Ball" and a fantastic addition to any collection!!!
