This is a very nice, quality made scraper, made by Millers Falls
The dome shaped threaded nut at the end and the dome shaped washers behind the blade allow it to swivel due to a hole in the center of the blade. Works fine. It measures 9.5" long and has a double-sided blade with a width of 2 7/8". The blade is pre-hardened tool steel with squared corners, precision ground, .055" thick x 4.5" long. This scraper is clearly marked in two places, one on the dome shaped nut, and also marked on the handle "MILLERS FALLS NO. 296" with most of the handle label still intact. This is a fine tool used for scraping insides of cabinets, scraping floors, to removing paint and varnish. It features an easy to adjust forward swivel head that allows blade positioning in several positions. Simply loosen the dome nut and position the blade to your liking, then tighten the nut to hold the blade, it holds in place very firmly. The blade handle matches the hard maple main handle and can be placed on either end of the blade, it is press fit onto the blade, holds very well, a simple slotted handle design.
