
1. No. 97. "Patented Sept. 29, 1896"is a fine antique bicycle wrench manufactured and marked: "Billings & Spencer Co., Hartford, Conn. 97". This nickel-plated wrench is very clean and adjusts easily. It measures just 4-1/8 inches in total length when closed. The wrench has been and there are some tool marks and bumps on the body of the tool. In addition to the writing on the body of the wrench there is the "B" inside a triangle...the logo of the Billings & Spencer Co. On the reverse side, on the top jaw section is patent date mark which reads: "PATENTED SEPT 29, 1896".
2. Unmarked hammer head wrench, but all the looks of a Billings & Spencer. Stamped “1880” and above that “PAT.”, followed by something that did not stamp through. Wrench is very clean and adjusts easily. It measures just 4 inches in total length when closed.
