A rare find with wonderful illustrations
Pratt & Whitney is known for the precision of its equipment, which can measure to 5 millionths of an inch. The company was founded in 1860 by Francis Pratt and Amos Whitney, who manufactured machine tools, sewing machine tools, and gun-making machinery for the Union Army during the American Civil War.
