The Stanley No. 45 plane is a combination plane that was manufactured between 1883 and 1962. It has an adjustable fence that can accept different types of blades, including straight blades, beading planes, and match groove blades. This design allowed for a single plane to be used for different sized grooves, dadoes, rabbets, and beads, instead of needing multiple wooden planes. The plane also has a depth stop, slitter, and spurs, and can come with 18–23 interchangeable cutters depending on the year it was made.
