European Tools from the 17th to the 19th Century is a 1981 book by Richard J. Wattenmaker, Jan Firch, and Alain G. Joyaux that is about woodworking, metalworking, and related trades. The book is a collection of black-and-white photographs of iron tools and implements.

Published to accompany the exhibition at the Flint Institute of Arts from April 26 – June 7, 1981. It is a tough book to find but is highly recommended as part of any tool collector’s library. It is a wealth of information, and many of the tools pictured cannot be found in any other references. Don’t miss out on this opportunity.
