G. Strode Wood Plane
G, Strode was an early 19th-century American wooden plane maker from Dumontsville, Ohio, who—along with his father J. Strode—crafted highly collectible antique wooden molding and plow planes that frequently command high values at specialized tool auctions.
In the March 2002 issue of The Gristmill, the Mid-West Tool Collectors Association published a collector's request specifically for “Wood planes by J Strode and G Strode” and information on these makers. It states that they came to Ohio from Berkeley, West Virginia, early in the 19th century.
