These files are made from the highest quality Swiss hardened steel, hardened throughout the entire thickness of the file, not just the cutting surface
These may also be tempered and used for high quality tooling applications such as knife blade and chisel making
I am not a file guy so don’t know how much they may have been used, if they were, but it appears slightly
