This is a vintage handmade wooden router plane or "old woman's tooth"
This plane is well constructed from wood and its in outstanding original condition
The patina on the wood is nice
This plane is an excellent example of what our craftsmen of yester-year could create
These folks had skills and could make just about anything they needed cheaper than they could buy it
Stanley didn't start producing the router plane until 1884 and prior to that, craftsmen made their own router planes like this one
I would estimate this plane is from the 1800's
The router plane excels at smoothing the bottom of a dado or groove, stair runners, patterns etc.
Patternmakers often made router planes to aid in their intricate work
