Vintage rosewood-and-brass mortise marking gauge

This is a rosewood-and-brass screw-adjusting mortise gauge. The brass knob at the end adjusts the movable scribing pin; the large thumbscrew locks the sliding wooden head.

Marples is a possibility, especially given the decorative brass plate beneath the locking screw. Similar plates appear on documented William Marples gauges
