Vintage Swiss Dennison U.S. Standard Mainspring Gauge Brass Watchmaker Jeweler Tool

This is a genuine vintage horological tool, and it is more interesting than an ordinary measuring gauge

The Dennison U.S. Standard mainspring gauge traces back to Aaron Lufkin Dennison, who developed the combined watch gauge around 1840

The gauge was designed to measure watch components, including mainspring dimensions; later versions were simplified specifically for mainspring measurement

US Standard markings on 1 side and tenths of a mm on the reverse

Main body of gage is brass and the insert is steel. Overall length about 5 7/8" x 1" wide
