So this plane has some age
Plane is marked “Wm. P.Webb WASHINTON, D.C.”

W Butcher is supposed to be a William Butcher who had a hand in making tool steel blades from 1830 - 1870
By the 1850s, W. & S. Butcher was one of the most important manufacturers in Sheffield. The firm was recognized as a specialist in edge tools, files, and razors, besides pocket cutlery, scissors, and Bowie knives. In the 1850s, apparently about 500 workers were employed.
